Jerith Harrold Funeral Sermon

March 15, 2025

On Monday morning, February 17, Jerith peacefully met her Lord face-to-face in heaven surrounded by loving family members.

Jerith was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and moved to California with her family as a little girl. She grew up in Southern California and never left. She enjoyed going to the beach as a teenager, riding her horse and listening to music on her transistor radio. She was a very good athlete and excelled in softball as a pitcher. She attended Westminster High School, graduated from Apple Valley HS and then attended Beauty College in Victorville with her siblings benefitting from many practice haircuts.

After a few years, she joined Pertec in the accounting department and worked there nearly 20 years. She then joined FedEx as a customer service representative and worked there for another 20 years before retiring in 2020.

Beyond work, Jerith was a consummate animal lover and pet owner. There wasn’t a bird (or coyote) within a mile of her home that didn’t know about the daily ‘snacks’ she supplied over the back fence. She was active in her church and women’s church groups and enjoyed the Bible studies at Denny’s. Jerith had a strong drive, was hyper-organized and loved visiting Disneyland and collecting her many Disney souvenirs. She loved traveling the country with her friends. Her next couple of trips she was planning were to visit Alaska and Disney World. Those that had any written contact with her knew of her excellent penmanship and cursive handwriting---perfection! She also enjoyed helping and tutoring the Vietnamese with their Citizenship classes at her church.

Jerith is preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Judy Ledermann. She is survived by David, her husband of 43 years; her son, Jerred; her two grandsons, Jakob and Joshua; and her four siblings, Terry, Noel, Mary and Steven---and many nieces, a nephew and almost a dozen great nieces and great nephews.
